Description
Joe’s Golden Gasolines is proud to present you this 1961 Chrysler Imperial Crown Windsor. Earning the title of being the widest and longest non-limousine American car to date. This is one very cool classic car.
Under the hood is the fantastic 413 CID V8 power unit, which churned out a whopping 350 horsepower. Despite its massive size, its still pretty peppy when you put your foot down, making it very fun to drive. Linked to the Torque-Flight three speed Push Button Automatic, which makes a very smooth driver.
The 1961 Imperial has some very impressive features including, power brakes, power steering, power windows, six way power adjustable seat, air-conditioning, free-standing headlights on short stalks in cut away front fenders and Chrysler gave the 61 Imperial the largest fins ever, giving it that 50’s-ish feel.
Presented in Alaskan White the paint shows good condition, although the body does need some work (left and right-side seals need attention). The underbody of the car is in great condition e.g. floors, rear-end and front undercarriage all solid.
One look at the cabin and you would immediately want to be sitting inside there. Chryslers flagship car and it came with all the bells and whistles money could buy at that time. Improved dash layout with upright rectangular bank of gauges, leather bench seats front and rear, presented in the 2-tone colour combo of Midnight Blue Poly and Alaskan White and leather was also a feature on the dashboard all presents very well. The roof lining will need some attention but all and all very nice.
All up the Imperial does need some tender loving care but for a 62-year-old classic she’s doing well and would own any road. Such an impressive and cool looking automobile.
