Description
Check out this ‘Full Size’ 1970 Chevrolet Caprice 2 door coupe. Finally living up to its name the 70’ Caprice measured in at 216 inches long, nearly 8 inches more than a long-bed C10 pickup from the same model year. Needless to say, these ‘Full Size’ vehicles have an impressive presence on the road and perfect stance stationary. This Chevy you see in front of you was a part of Kenny Ross’s personal collection of cars. It was well looked after and has only driven 75,000 miles.
The Caprice is fitted with the original 350 cubic inch Turbo-fire GM Chevrolet L48m Rochester 4 barrel producing 300 Horsepower @4800rpm. Linked to the 3 speed GM Turbo Hydramatic. The choice is yours. Effortless automatic shifting or you can shift yourself through three forward ranges. The Caprice is optioned out with power steering, power brakes, disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear, both paired are power-assisted for effortless, steady stopping.
Through to the interior we see it is in immaculate condition. Only 75,347 original miles. Black and dark grey distinctive cloth and vinyl upholstery. Colour and design coordinated with the exterior of the car itself. The door cards, dash and steering wheel are mated in black but are broken up with the redwood burl wood grain which is a stunning feature in this Caprice. Some other features include four season air-conditioning, power windows and windshield defrosters front and rear.
Our detailer has done a great job bringing this Chevy back to life. It has cleaned up beautifully. It is finished in the shadow Gray Irid (Code 17) with the black vinyl roof. Chrome bumpers, mouldings and grille are all in original condition, there is a ding on the front bumper but nothing major. The 1970 Chevrolet Caprice received a minor facelift featuring a more conventional under the grille bumper replacing the wrap around unit used in 69’. Features on this Caprice include 1” white walls, the original Chevrolet hubcaps with the chrome rings and the rear bumper sporting the slot-styled vertical taillights.
